Return Multiplier
Q: What is a return multiplier?
A: A return multiplier converts settlement code and odds into money calculation.
It answers:
For every 1 unit staked, how much is returned under this score state?
The return usually includes the original stake.
If decimal odds are \(O\):
| Code | Meaning | Return multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Full loss | 0 |
| 50 | Half loss | 0.5 |
| 100 | Push | 1 |
| 150 | Half win | \((O+1)/2\) |
| 200 | Full win | \(O\) |
For odds 2.10:
| Result | Multiplier | Return on 100 |
|---|---|---|
| Full loss | 0 | 0 |
| Half loss | 0.5 | 50 |
| Push | 1 | 100 |
| Half win | 1.55 | 155 |
| Full win | 2.10 | 210 |
A return multiplier is not net profit rate. If the multiplier is 1.007, the net return is:
\[ 1.007-1=0.007=0.7\% \]
